Starting as a sapling, Hemlock trees find purchase in some tough terrain. Despite their rocky roots, Hemlocks can grow to be nearly 200 feet tall, don’t break a sweat in the Michigan summers, and can tolerate the heaviest snowfall and ice storms.

We’re kind of like that: adaptable, nature-loving, and evergreen. The work we do holds up to the punches, gets done regardless of the conditions, and serves the greater ecology of small business. We know how hard it is to grow in the shade; let us shine a little light on you.

Started in January 2020, Hemlock Media Co. got off to a rough start. But just like our namesake, we flourished anyway. Hemlock was started as a response, an answer to the question “what about the little guy?” We saw folks left behind and people pushed aside for profit and imagined a way of doing things differently.

  • Photographer and Designer

    Haley is a photographer with a passion for capturing the heart of small businesses. When she's not behind the lens, you’ll find her curled up with a good book, spinning vinyl, and enjoying the analog moments in life.

  • Video Lead and Storyteller

    J is as comfortable behind the camera as they are behind a keyboard. Whatever your story, it deserves to be told by someone who desperately wants to hear it. In their spare time, J can be found mass-consuming a confusing mix of music and writing.
